Winchester Creatives – September 2017 Edition

25th September 2017

Our first meetup of the Autumn brought us a warm and bright evening at the Studio.

It was great to see a good amount new faces along with the regulars! Thank you all for making the effort - hope to see you at many more of our get-togethers.

We were lucky enough to be joined by Ali Lanning - author of kids stories Lairytales and all-round lovely person!

Ali gave a talk about the wild and (mostly) wonderful journey she has been on (so far) in getting the stories published in the form of an interactive app, which looks absolutely amazing!

The inspirational talk touched on several subjects, including the idea of taking a leap of faith in order to fulfil your goals. This, obviously, is easier said than done for most, but can be exactly what is needed in some cases!

Interspersed throughout the presentation were excellent images from the world of the Lairies, and a demo of the forthcoming app was given at the end. If you missed it you shouldn’t have to wait long for the app to be released. It’s free at the point of purchase, and is entirely child - and parent! - friendly, with no annoying ads. For updates on the app, along with other snippets of news and information, follow the Lairies on Twitter and Facebook.

As well as the usual beer and nibbles, sustenance was supplied as ever by our wonderful friends at The Stable in Winchester, for which we are eternally grateful to the manager, Matt, for his generosity. If you're in the area, please pop in to see them for lunch to show your support. :)

The next event will be on Tuesday 3rd October, where we will have yet another interesting and inspiring talk for you. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates! As ever, it’s free to attend, and tickets are available through Eventbrite.

Hope to see you there!
