The London Irish Foundation is the official charity of London Irish Rugby Football Club. The foundation was officially approved as a registered charity by the Charity Commission in April 2019 although it had been actively delivering a number of Premiership Rugby programmes since September 2018. Their projects use the power of sport to make a lasting, positive impact amongst a variety of community groups including disabled, women and girls, prisoners and the homeless amongst others. Our objective was to design, build and launch a dedicated website for the foundation which promoted the remarkable work they did whilst communicating their purpose. The website needed to engage the local community, supporters and future supporters.
The client team’s focus on delivering programmes and other commitments meant that they had ‘made do’ with a small presence on the main London Irish Club website. But a rapidly changing and competitive media environment meant that the Foundation needed communication channels that it could own in order to maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Chief among these was the website.
Increasing the Foundation's Profile
The main priority of the website was to increase the foundation’s reach across new and existing audiences in order to demonstrate the meaningful and sustainable legacy of their work. Our approach to creativity and intuitive functionality development was challenged to generate at least 10,000 unique users per month by 2021. The overall experience of browsing through their content-rich, informative content needed to be an enjoyable, useful and engaging experience. Being associated with a highly respected Rugby Union team, the website also had to be a true reflection of the club’s unique values and character.
Studio Republic is an outstanding agency. The amazing, talented staff worked tirelessly to create our bespoke website with care and passion. It was an absolute pleasure working with them and the values they talk about, they most certainly delivered. The quality is absolutely world class and all of us at the Foundation are delighted.
