The Green Party need no introduction. As Britain's only mainstream political party to focus their attention on environmental issues and left-wing policies, they're a party that aligns beautifully with our business ethics. The party originally approached us back 2012 and we’ve worked with them ever since. The Green Party’s national, regional, and local websites – over 100 of them in total – were in need of a complete visual overhaul and the MODX Content Management System desperately needed to be upgraded.
The individual sites all provided news and information for local voters as well as opportunities to get involved with the political agenda. Their sites were (and remain) their primary communication tool, but they were dated and very difficult to navigate - putting unnecessary barriers in front of visitors wanting to show their support. Based on the set-up of the websites, our objective was to roll-out one consistent design and experience across the national site to be adapted for all the individual regional sites.
The first project in 2012 was to upgrade their MODX CMS to make the websites far more reliable – not to mention considerably faster. We have then continued to work closely with the Party to roll-out several updates to the design in order to improve the UX across all the websites. In 2015 we created the General Election website and visits climbed over 1000% from the previous year. The site now attracts up to 1 million page views per month.
Studio Republic have been a joy to work with. They understood our needs perfectly, got to grips with a potentially cumbersome project quickly and with the minimum of fuss, and we are incredibly happy with the end result. The new site designs will set us up for further electoral success in the years to come.
