Greener Politics
Studio Republic have been a joy to work with. They understood our needs perfectly, got to grips with a potentially cumbersome project quickly and with the minimum of fuss, and we are incredibly happy with the end result. The new site designs will set us up for further electoral success in the years to come.

1. About The Party

The Green Party need no introduction. As Britain's only mainstream political party to focus fully on environmental issues and left-wing policies, they're one of our ideal clients! We've had the pleasure of working with the Green Party since 2012.

2. The Problem

The Green Party’s national, regional, and local websites – over 100 in total – were in need of a visual overhaul and the MODX Content Management System needed to be upgraded.

Their sites provide news and information for voters, as well as opportunities to actively engage with the political agenda. In short, their sites were (and still are) their primary communication tools. As such, the sites need to be current, eye-catching and easy to navigate. The same site design for the national site needed to be adaptable for all regional and local sites.

3. What We Did

The first project in 2012 was to upgrade their MODX CMS to make the websites far more reliable – not to mention considerably faster. Read our MODX page to learn more about our skills in this platform. We have continued to work closely with the Party, rolling out several updates to the design. Most recently we created the 2015 General Election website. Visits to the site climbed over 1000% from 2014 to 2015 and the site now attracts up to 1 million page views per month.

4. Proud Parents

“The Green Party is the winner of the General Election, at least when it comes to digital performance.”
Computer Business Review

”When it comes to website design, The Green Party is firmly in the lead, whilst the Lib Dems are lingering in last place, according to new research.”
