Tony Keal from the Society of St James talks about the teams efforts on the day.
A Hack day is an opportunity for developers, designers, any kind of makers, to get together and block out a day of time to make something from scratch, no strings attached.
Hack for Good 2019 falls during Mental Health Awareness Week so our hacking teams will be working to solve a problem faced by mental health charities, mental health services, or to support people with their mental health and well-being.
Friday the 17th of May. The day will kick off bright and early to make sure we've got enough time to create something awesome. To ensure we've got enough space to work, we'll be using The Loft in central Winchester, a beautiful space that's perfect for sparking creativity.
This year we've got even more agencies involved. We'll have some of the brightest minds from the top agencies in the South all donating their time to solve the problems of the day.
As an ethical digital agency we're always looking for ways that we can create for good in the world. Having a go at a problem is always a challenge. Trying to deliver several months' worth of work in a day is surely attempting the impossible? What a hack does though, is deliver a prototype solution that invites additional questions for further investment and development. We love to encourage our charity friends and fellow creatives to push themselves in innovation, we love to socialise and have fun. Putting those two things together in the form of a Hack for Good was a no-brainer for us.
The excellent teams at Balsamiq and Wirehive have kindly donated to our cause to support the day! Plus the wonderful people at Open House Deli , Red Cat Brewing and The Stable will be keeping the teams going during the day. We're very lucky to have everyone involved.
