Together we can build a brighter, more prosperous future.

Becoming part of the global movement of B Corps allows organisations to deliver value to their stakeholders as well as adding benefit to society and the environment. Find out more about what B Corp is, how we became one and how you can certify.

What is B Corp?

To put it simply, a B Corp is a company that pursues the “triple bottom line”. Taking into equal consideration profit, people and planet, certified B Corporations are a global movement of businesses who simply want to do better, putting purpose over profit.

Legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their customers, suppliers, workers, community, and the environment, B Corps are driving a global movement of people using business as a force for good. But, B Corps don’t just do it for themselves. People today want to work for, buy from and invest their hard earned cash into organisations that they believe in, and by undergoing the B Corp Certification, you are building credibility and trust for your organisation, as well as adding value to your products and services, and creating benefits for society and the environment too.

When B Corps harness the power of business, they use their profits and growth to create a positive impact for their employees, communities, and the environment, and they pass this power to their customers who can vote for a brighter future with every purchase they make.

B Corporation is on a mission, with it’s ever-growing network of certified B Corps, to create a global culture shift to redefine what success means and looks like in business and to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy. Where governments haven’t yet acted, we as businesses can act, and can create the future for the world that we always dreamed of.

Our journey

When we first heard about B Corp, we knew it was something we needed to become. With creative for good at the core of all we do, and sustainability being a fundamental part of who we are at Studio Republic, we wanted to learn more about how we could further use our business as a force for good.

Though profitability is important – and by being successful we are able to grow and create an even bigger impact – we believe that having a positive impact on society and the environment is just as important. That’s why we’ve worked hard over the past year to improve our business practices so that our team is taken care of and supported, our environmental footprint is monitored and kept low, and that our work with charities, not-for-profits and purpose-driven enterprises is contributing towards the betterment of the world. We take it seriously, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

The process of becoming B Corp Certified was challenging and, at times, an exercise in endurance. The B Corp standards are high, and rightly so, and we were required to complete assessments of not just our social and environmental impacts and considerations, but those relating to governance, the community, and workers too. We had a full head-to-toe examination of all things impact related, and came out the other end with a whole lot of knowledge, a positive attitude and plan for the future and - last but by no means least - the honour of being a part of a movement that strives to make global change.

Becoming Changemakers

How to become a B Corp

Society’s most challenging problems cannot be solved by government and nonprofits alone. That’s where the B Corp community comes in. By becoming a B Corp, you are working in collaboration with the B Corp Network to reduce inequality, lower levels of poverty, create a healthier environment, stronger communities, and generate higher quality jobs with purpose. Basically, you’re joining a team of superheroes with one ambition - making the world a better place.

The B Impact Assessment is the framework that allows companies to qualify as B Corporations. It requires public transparency and legal accountability, to make sure that your business isn’t just talking the talk, but is walking the walk too. The assessment is broken down into five areas: Workers, Governance, Community, Environment and Customers. So it’s not just your services and products that are given a once over, it’s your entire business. B Corp is looking to assess your overall positive impact, and will score your business in relation to how well you’re performing.

But it’s not as daunting as it sounds. By completing the impact assessment, you’re undergoing an incredible process that embeds your strong ethics and values into the foundation of your business. Best practice will become ingrained - if it’s not already! And, trust us, your employees and your customers will love you for it. The assessment also acts as an in-depth roadmap for continued sustainable success, which is the most valuable tool your business will ever gain.

Ultimately, business can’t prosper unless all of society prospers too, so don’t just compete to be the best in the world, become a B Corp and be the best for the world.
