Oliver brings more to Studio Republic
Studio Republic’s directors Chris Todhunter and Barney Sanders are delighted to have recruited Oliver Dashwood, who joined the team in December last year, having completed a BA Hons in graphic design at Southampton Solent University.
A marketing agency is only as good as its next idea. It stays on top by staying sharp and creative. Studio Republic has been a respected and highly successful Winchester-based marketing agency for five years, working with clients in London and throughout the southern counties.
A great team is essential for success, and Studio Republic is always on the look out for new talent. With its high reputation and rapidly expanding client base, it is not surprising that when Studio Republic advertised online for a junior designer it had over one hundred applications.
So why did Oliver stand out? Not only was his portfolio excellent but Oliver also has a ‘can do’ attitude that matches Studio Republics’ work ethos. They detected a hunger, a keenness to shine and succeed. But how were they to turn Oliver’s raw talent into sophisticated marketing savvy?
As with all Studio Republic’s new people Oliver was not given a chair in the back office – Chris and Barney threw him in at the deep end, and Oliver is already working on important projects and will very soon find himself talking directly to clients.
Since joining Studio Republic Oliver is learning that in marketing you live and die by how good you are at applying your creative imagination to the fast-shifting world of business. You have to be both sensitive and quick on the uptake to meet a client’s brief. Oliver is beginning to ask the right questions, and finding out where Studio Republic’s clients want to be and then helping them to get there.
So whether a business needs a new corporate image, a fresh brand identity, a dynamic new website, professional brochures and catalogues, or an annual report, Oliver will be there in the thick of it, working with Chris and Barney to give it the advice and guidance it needs.
