A partnership to keep the whole county on its toes
Studio Republic’s directors Chris Todhunter and Barney Sanders are delighted to have teamed up with Hampshire Dance.
Dance is fun. Dance is creative. And, however old you are, dance is definitely good for you.
It’s booming in the county, and that’s no surprise with dynamic Hampshire Dance promoting it. But with so much going on, and with everyone so busy, how to get it all into the public eye?
It was fortunate that Chris Todhunter and Barney Sanders, always committed to supporting local arts, were searching for an arts-based community to work with. The two directors of the successful Winchester media agency Studio Republic approached Hampshire Dance and the result is the perfect partnership of skills.
Straightaway, Chris and Barney were bowled over by the sheer range of activities, for Hampshire Dance work tirelessly with local authorities, dance professionals and arts funders to get everyone involved, young and old. Highly committed and energetic, they take dance into schools, they use dance and drama to communicate with the county’s youth, they run workshops for teachers and dance professionals, they run fitness classes, they involve the disabled, they run conferences, and they commission creative new work … phew! In fact, they leave no stone unturned in encouraging everyone to think of dance as a must-do physical and artistic activity.
Chris and Barney are looking forward to applying their formidable marketing skills to this outstanding organisation. For the next twelve months and beyond they’ll advise Hampshire Dance on how to get their message over, applying their creative muscle to designing new brochures and publicity. Most important of all, they’ll redesign and develop the Hampshire Dance website so that the whole county can keep up with its myriad activities. One vital addition is the searchable information bank, which is packed with information and covers all aspects of dance.
Between them, Hampshire Dance and Studio Republic hope to radically change the face of dance across the county over the next few years. They want everyone up on their toes dancing and enjoying its benefits.
