We’ve just completed a couple of jobs for one of our new clients, the very nice people at Winchester Travel Health. One of which is their Christmas ecard.

They have taken the eco bull by the jingle horns and decided that 2009 is the year of the ecard – not even a last minute postal strike can stop these from going out.

Here’s a sneak preview of the rather nice looking emailwe’ve designed and built and will be sending out soon.

A new figure has emerged in the Hampshire region he’s Smart… Agent Smart! (sorry, couldn’t resist the Bond pun!)

Errr, anyway, moving swiftly on… we’ve just finished work on this new guide to all things Hampshire at the click of a button you can now see what’s available in our local area. The options are vast, from accomodation and events to the local history and heritage locations.

As Agent Smart is a new concept in Hampshire, if you have a business or have had a good experience at a local attraction let him know so that he can share it with the other Hampshire residents. Similarly, if you can’t find what you need then let him know and he’ll try to add that service as soon as possible.

Now that’s enough about the client lets get back to us, our favourite subject! For the Agent Smart project we undertook the branding, web design and back end development. The site uses the Google maps API with overlayed map technology, a what’s on section and a feed back facility all built bespoke for the client by our talented and ever so geeky technical team.

Agent Smart identity

Some of the most successful digital marketers are not large corporates but one man bands who have quickly adapted to the new opportunities available online and are capitalising on it like crazy.

Meanwhile the big brands are turning to their advertising agencies that are ill prepared to offer advice and instead choose bravado to bluff their way through.

This results in big chunks of cash being thrown at viral emails and the like with very little to show for it.

So I wonder: How long will the brands keep on throwing money at the wrong people?

And when will they take a leaf out of the book of the one man bands?

And realise that the web is just like anything else – you only get out what you put in.…
